Mindanao Toy Convention 2011

Held in Gaisano Mall, Bajada, Davao City, this post covers the cosplay part of the event. JUST the cosplay part.

Forgive the incompetence, I am not a saint.

Before I get into the meat of the post though, I have one thing to ask of the Gmall people. Please management, learn to value your customers and provide some damn SEATS! You can't just ask your customers to provide their own foldable benches and mini monobloc chairs.

Now all that is done ...

I can't believe this thing's formatting. Oh, and that Iron Man isn't a real cosplayed character. It's a toy, but you know it already.

I admire this guy. I know he's wearing school pants, I know it's his first time cosplaying, and I know him by sight. He may have thought it was the most embarrassing thing he had ever done, but I respect him.

Even though school pants :D

I believe this guy told a story based on L4D. I would really have enjoyed the story if it was a group presentation. Sorry bro, one-man acts don't cut it unless you're a pro stand-up comedian or an eloquent politician. Ups to you though.

I really enjoyed this presentation. Only gripe was that the kiddie trooper froze on stage half the time and didn't pick up some cues. 7/10 though. When I took on the mask, it was kind of hard to breathe in too, so I feel you.

All in all, good cosplay event. Gripes? Blogspot's horrible formatting (see I told you this crap website really isn't good for something like this, let's move to wix or something) and choice of venue. Metro Ave once again please, or something similar? Please AMBOX, I know you can make it happen.

We are the TT peepz and we are here to start a cosplay blog, to see what's going on in busy but peaceful city of Davao with regards to cosplaying.

First of all, what is cosplaying? Cosplaying or Costume play is a form of art in which people dress up as their favorite anime, video game and even movie characters. People who involve themselves into cosplaying are called cosplayers. Cosplayers usually portray characters from their favorite animes such as One Piece, Toradora, Gensomaden Saiyuki, Full Metal Panic and Vampire Knight and also from video games such the Final Fantasy Series, Valkyrie Profile, Street Fighter, Tekken and Tales Series.

Not to mention, cosplaying is a very expensive hobby. You have to spend for your costume and for your props such as armlets and swords. This is not to discourage aspiring cosplayers (that includes me) but hey, we can recycle right? This enhances our skill in resourcefulness. :)

Anyway, this blog is totally about the cosplay events going in Davao City and maybe in other places in Mindanao too, if ever we get the chance again. We will review the ongoing cosplay event and feature amazing cosplayers that made a total impact in the event. In this blog, we will also feature cosplayers that caught our attention in the event and other events as well.

Hopefully, this blog will go well. Of course, we need your constant support as well. :)
